Poster Instructions

The CBD S&T Conference will include two poster sessions. The first session will be on Tuesday, 17 November, from 1800 – 2000 and the second session will be on Wednesday, 18 November, from 1800 – 2000. Please see the Poster Session Agenda on this website to find out which day you are scheduled to present.

Each poster presenter will be provided a 4 foot high by 8 foot wide space on a free-standing corkboard upon which to display their poster. Poster presenters should follow the below guidance:

  • Poster must utilize at least 50% of the 4 foot by 8 foot space
  • Minimum font size is 16 point
  • Poster must include at least one visual/graphic/picture
  • The conference strongly discourages the use of printed PowerPoint slides in lieu of a poster
Tuesday’s posters should be put up between 0700 – 1200 and taken down no later than 2030 that evening. Wednesday’s posters should be put up between 0700 – 1200 and taken down no later than 2030 that evening. Push-pins will be provided for hanging your poster.

SELECT PRESENTATIONS OF TOP POSTERS

The top six poster presentations from each poster session will be invited to give a five minute oral presentation during a special session the following day. The poster presenters from Tuesday’s poster session will present on Wednesday afternoon while the poster presenters from Wednesday’s poster session will present on Thursday afternoon. Please see the conference agenda for the specific session time.

The oral presentation should consist of no more than three PowerPoint slides and should include one take home message regarding your research. Please do not include anything beyond what is on your poster presentation so there will be no public release issues.

The selection of the top poster presenters will be made onsite during each poster session and the presenters will be notified at the close of the session if they have been selected to give an oral presentation the following day.
